Peter David Schiff is an American author, businessman, financial news commentator, video blogger, economist and a 2010 candidate for the U.S. Senate. He is president of Euro Pacific Capital and author of The Little Book of Bull Moves in Bear Markets and Crash Proof: How to Profit from the Coming Economic Collapse. Schiff was an economic adviser to Ron Paul's 2008 presidential campaign. In his appearances on financial television, Schiff is an eloquent articulator of the true causes of the current global economic crisis, highlighting government intervention and socialism as the cause. He says that the current economic crisis provides an opportunity to transition from borrowing and spending, to saving and producing and he is critical of the U.S. government's efforts to "ease the pain" with economic stimulus packages and bailouts.
