No change with big-gov O'Farrell

Those claiming the Liberal victory in NSW is a win for smaller government, don't hold your breath.

Barry O'Farrell and his cohort of "moderates" are not "liberal" by any meaningful definition of that word. O'Farrell will continue the policies that have been crippling the living standards of families in NSW, as well as other states.

Restrictive, environmentalist land release policies on the urban fringe, will continue to drive up the price of housing. Indeed O'Farrell expresses his excitement at the prospect of "protecting green corridors". These are the very policies that have been pushing up housing prices for the past 30 years.

The NSW Liberal party boasts, on their website, of a scheme to use tax-payers money to force people to use more expensive "green" energy. They also proclaim their intention to cut off more land to development with the creation of a massive new national park.

O'Farrell doesn't provide change. It's just more of the same.

I was happy to see Labor

I was happy to see Labor annihilated simply because it's always nice to see.  But I do agree to a large extent about O'Farrell.  Not only in your given examples but also in the fact he has gone along with supportive abortion laws, etc.  He really isn't a leader that will bring about good for the state of NSW.  I also saw that he was bringing in a minister for some small, crazy thing which made me realise there really won't be a big reduction in the size of government.
