Murray-Darling backtrack is mind-bending propaganda

The eco-fanatical Gillard government is now suggesting that it disagrees with the Murray-Darling report which suggests that consumers, taxpayers and farmers ought to be burnt at the stake for the sake of the so-called "environment".

Those looking more astutely can, however, see that this is a classic case fabian 'renounce and compromise'. First you renounce a radically insane proposal (that is purposefully put out), and then you push through the exact same proposal in a watered-down form, to make it look like you've achieved a reasonable compromise, when in fact the compromise is itself insane. Then, at a later date, when the watered down version in no longer in the public psyche, you push through yet another incremental stage.

What we need to be doing is making the repeal of environmentalist legislation the issue.
