"Announce and Compromise" method used on Murray-Darling

If you have a friend whom you know is a murderer, but all you tell the cops is that he is a wife-beater, does that mean you don't like him? No, of course it doesn't. You're telling a massive lie in his favour despite the fact that it appears as if you are speaking out against him.

When the outrageous Murray-Darling plan, which will see food prices skyrocket, was released on the 8th of October, there was outrage in the farming community. This was absolutely predictable. But now you can see that Labor is able to appear as if it is achieving a compromise, whilst still engaging in the lunatic enterprise of removing water from farmers and "returning" it to the river.

The idea is that if you want to go from point A to point B, and others don't, then you simply annouce that you, in fact, want to go to point C, then act as if point B is some sort of reasonable compromise. Then, later on, you continue this process by annoucing you want to go to point D, and you go to point C.

The insanity is the process of moving at all.
